STONECREST EDUCATIONAL FUND

KUJICHAGULIA

This web page is dedicated to an Oral History Project for the Black Students who entered Williams College in the 1960s through the 1980s.

The Stonecrest  Educational Fund hopes and expects that these oral histories will provide a basis for motivational biographies for the K-12 students of the Stonecrest community.  As these K-12 students graduate from high school, it is hoped that they will consider Williams College a worthwhile goal in their further education.

The Stonecrest Educational Fund is sponsoring this page and this oral history project because those students at Williams College were instrumental in the conception of the mission of the Stonecrest Educational Fund. Their personal oral history needs to be preserved.  This history will be preserved first orally and then transcribed into written form.

Kujichagulia is the second principle of Kwanzaa.  Self-determination. To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves, and speak for ourselves.
