ESSAY CONTEST ON VOTING
The Stonecrest Educational Fund is hosting an essay contest this fall.
Essay Topic and Title: Why It Is Important to Vote in Local Elections.
Who may enter: Any K-12 student who lives in zip codes 30094, 30058, or 30038 or whose family has ever lived in one of those zip codes in the past 7 years may enter this contest.
All contestants will win something, such as gift certificates, annual subscriptions, motivational wall calendars, and pens.
There will be at least one first-place prize each for the elementary, middle, and high school contestant groups. First place prizes have included Summer Academic Camp Scholarships at Georgia Tech, and U.G.A. as well as the Fernbank Science Center and the Fernbank Natural History Museum depending on the student’s interest and age. Electronic devices such as iPads have substituted for summer camps during the pandemic.
The Stonecrest Educational Fund has awarded over $25,000 in prizes and scholarships in the past 7 years. All our contestants become eligible to win freshman college scholarships upon graduation from high school.
